Onduo Diabetes Platform Continues to Attract Diabetes Care Companies
Diabetes management platform Onduo, the result of a partnership between Verily and Sanofi, has announced collaborations with a number of diabetes care management companies to expand the platform’s offerings.
These announced services include Voluntis’ Insulia, a digital insulin dose recommendation and coaching system; Glytec’s Glucommander Outpatient, cloud-based software that evaluates blood glucose and patient attribute to adjust insulin dosages; and BioTelemetry’s Telcare cellular-enabled glucometer and cloud-based data system.
Onduo seeks to simplify diabetes care by working with providers to integrate various care management tools into a single platform.
Onduo’s offering seeks to bring Type 2 diabetes hardware and software tools together into a single platform accessible through a smartphone. Along with personalized care and daily support, Onduo’s platform looks to keep diabetes patients in contact with practitioners by assigning each user a personal care lead, who helps develop a care plan and works to keep patients on track between doctor visits….
“From monitoring food intake to testing glucose levels to actively seeking medical care, the challenges both on the physical and mental well-being of a person living with diabetes are incredibly difficult,” Onduo CEO Dr. Joshua Riff said when the joint venture was founded. “We want to develop solutions that allow people living with diabetes to focus on the things they love and enjoy life by providing tools to make dealing with their diabetes less burdensome.”…
Blue Cross and Blue Shield also announced that they had partnered with Onduo to carry out a pilot program in Arkansas, Georgia, and South Carolina.
“Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies have a long history of bringing locally tailored, innovative programs to the communities we serve,” Jody Voss, vice president of development, innovation, and the group purchasing organization for BCBSA, said in a statement. “We are pleased to be able to continue this tradition by partnering with Onduo on a new diabetes management program that will help eligible members better manage their type 2 diabetes.”
