Q: What startup accelerators exist that have a stated focus on healthcare?

I am involved in the Cedars Sinai Healthcare Accelerator sponsored by TechStars as a mentor. They provide access to thought leaders at Cedars Sinai and a small amount of capital during an intensive a 3-month program.

There is a great list of 12 incubators and accelertors on Beckers. https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/healthcare-information-technology/12-healthcare-startup-incubators-and-accelerators-to-know.html
Blueprint Health (New York)
Dreamit Health (Philadelphia)
Healthbox (Chicago).
Health Wildcatters (Dallas)
The Iron Yard (Asheville, N.C.).
Matter (Chicago)
MedStartr (New York).
New York Digital Health Accelerator.
Rock Health (San Francisco) (seed fund)
StartUp Health (New York)
StartX Med (Palo Alto, Calif.)
TechStars Healthcare Accelerator (Los Angeles) co-located at Cedar Sinai.

I was a mentor for Techstars / Microsoft healthcare vertical but it has become increasingly common for health systems to host their own as well or use reverse pitches to present a problem they want to be solved (vs tech co’s pitching to them).

FYI I also am the director of a still in beta, patient-centered health innovation center where instead of starting with the technology we use service design to identify the key problems for people who are patients and caregivers vs starting with the technology.

StartUp Health – a virtual accelerator out of New York. Highly recommended.
